An Obsession…

A cupcake… let's brake that apart shall we?

Take the second part of the contraction; cake. Oh how delicious… a combination of cake flour, baking powder, butter, salt, sugar, eggs, milk along with vanilla extract, chocolate or another flavoring and to top it all off that wonderful mixture of sugar, butter, salt, milk and some form of flavoring, that we call icing. Used to celebrate occasions such as birthdays, weddings, graduations, Saturdays, etc…

Cup -noun- a small, open container made of china, glass, metal, ect., usually having a handle and used chiefly as a receptacle from which to drink tea, soup, etc. [definition given by dictionary.com]

So put the two together and you get the little delights that are cupcakes.

I'll go over what this blog is all about…

For the past two years, going on three, I've been going to school/living in New York City. While here I've been exposed to so many wonderful new things… places, food, people, experiences… and one thing I've realized that if I wanted something outlandish all I would have to do is google "'outlandish item' nyc" and in about 0.35 seconds I'll be on my way.

I've also come to find out, rather quickly, things here are not only expensive but people will buy it! A slice of pizza for $5.99… that slice better throw itself into my mouth.

Anyway, I eventually stumbled upon the ability to buy individual cupcakes, I know strange but stay with me, in not only bakeries but ones who… wait for it… specialize in cupcakes! "What?!" you say, "No! There can be so such thing! If there would be that would be the gateway to heaven!!" Well believe me, not only that but there are many in New York! And not only here, but around the world! Now coming for the suburbs of Niagara Falls this concept seemed almost impossible to me, but anything can happen in New York, right?

Because I've become so infatuated with cupcakes I plan to travel to different cupcake places around New York and talk about them. I'll discuss the atmosphere for the store, employees, customer service, price, location, history of the store along with the presentation and taste of the cupcake. There are multiple stores with multiple kinds of cupcakes so this may take a while… I still need to figure out which cupcakes to taste and blog about. I have no dietary restrictions so I'm not limited to what I can eat. By next Monday I plan to have an outline of what I'll do.

I also plan to discuss other things about cupcakes by featuring "cute" or interesting liners and the stores that sell them.

Not only is this to entertain me but it is also to entertain you, the wonderful reader. If you want to send me the name of a bakery I haven't visited yet, touch upon something specific, feature someone you think is worth featuring, or you could even ask me to blog about a bakery because you're planning a visit here and want to know about it before you go… I just want you to know that I'm open to suggestions and criticism (as long as you're mature about it)

…Well, here we go on a new adventure…
